West End Restaurant – Burguers and Steakhouse in Maspalomas

La comida aquí es increíble. Opté por el chuletón de 250 g y estaba perfecto. Te preguntan cómo lo quieres cocinado y el mío (como se ve en la foto) estaba poco hecho y perfecto, además con un buen toque ahumado. Probablemente habríamos vuelto para probar las hamburguesas, pero el servicio no fue bueno. Para empezar, solo aceptaban pagos en efectivo, así que tuvimos que usar un cajero automático cercano que tenía una comisión altísima. Esperamos una hora después de pedir la comida para que llegara y luego se olvidaron de uno de nuestros acompañamientos, así que cuando llegó la cuenta no lo pagamos y el chico fue amable pero no se disculpó. Recomendaría mucho la comida aquí, sin duda una de las mejores de Playa del Inglés, pero la larga espera por la comida empañó la experiencia.

We visited again on our recent holiday after having such a great experience here in 2024, so we were really looking forward to coming back. Our first visit was excellent, which is why I originally left 5 stars. Unfortunately this time it didn’t feel quite the same. The card machine wasn’t working, although staff handled this well and the manager kindly adjusted the bill to cover the charge for us needing to withdraw cash, which we appreciated. The main disappointment was the food just didn’t seem as good as we remembered. The burger lacked some of the flavour it had before, and the chips tasted as though the oil may have needed changing. The biggest issue for us was being approached by a street seller while seated inside the restaurant. We were surprised they were allowed into the enclosed seating area, and it took away from the experience. I had to say no several times while staff were fully aware of what was happening, but nobody stepped in. This isn’t a cheap restaurant, and guests really shouldn’t be interrupted by street sellers while dining. We’ve eaten in much more casual places nearby where staff politely move them on straight away. It’s still a nice venue with friendly staff, and we had an amazing experience here previously, so hopefully this was just an off night, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to our last visit.
